History

In October 2008 we bought three female alpacas from Rosehaven Alpacas. On Thanksgiving that year our beloved southern belle Penny came from North Carolina. Since then we have gone to many shows and had the joy of being present when Summer delivered her first cria, Misty. To date there are nine female alpacas in our herd.

During this time Jay and I have purchased 17 acres of land in North Carolina that to date has had five acres cleared, which have grown back quite a bit by now. There is an electric meter on a pole, the well has been drilled and there is a concrete slab for the garage.

Next step is to build the garage and barn. We have a pasture layout and barn plan complete- on paper, and we are constantly tweeking it as we learn more though I think it is just about done to my liking.  The house and learning center will be last.

It is our intention to have a nice size indoor/outdoor area to hold all sorts of seminars and workshops on handling, training, fiber sorting and don't forget the dogs. As avid dog agility and rally participants we will have a designated area for equipment for them as well.
